Sam Seawright scores $4,000 triumph at Xtreme Speedway; runner-up in Bama 100 finale

Sam Seawright and his Troy Baird Racing team stayed close to the shop over the weekend and attended the two-day Bama 100 at the newly-renovated Xtreme Speedway (Moulton, Ala.) on Friday and Saturday.

With 19 Late Models signed in for night one, Seawright qualified fifth-quickest in his group before finishing second in his heat race. Sam started sixth in the 40-lap feature and quickly made his way to the runner-up spot. Waiting until the last few laps to make his move, Seawright powered around Josh Putnam with just four laps remaining to steal the $4,000 victory. Luke Morey and Josh Putnam made up the podium.

Sam hoped to collect the weekend swept on Saturday night but came up just short in the $6,000-to-win finale as Josh Putnam repaid the favor and passed Seawright on the last lap of the 60-lap feature. Sam led the first 59 circuits before Josh snuck around him on the outside and took home the $6,000 payday. Luke Morey once again finished out the podium.
