Seawright finishes fifth and sixth in Cherokee Speedway doubleheader with HTF Series
Making the haul to the "Place Your Mama Warned You About" for the weekend, Sam Seawright joined a 42-car field at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) for the two-day season finale with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.
Laying down the second-fastest lap in his qualifying group during night one, Seawright picked up a heat race win and redrew the pole position for the 30-lap main event. Sam ran runner-up for most of the A-Main, but faded on a restart and rounded out the Top-5 in fifth.
For the $35,000 grand prize on Saturday night, Sam picked up another heat race win and started on the outside pole this time in the feature event. Seawright ran 93 laps of the 100-lapper on the same tires before he came in with a flat. The team changed the tire quickly and Sam was able to rally for a sixth-place finish.
